What we collect, why, and the choices you have — in plain language.
Last updated: July 13, 2026
ThriftFlow makes point-of-sale software for thrift stores and Habitat ReStores. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.
Two different groups of people interact with ThriftFlow, and they're treated differently:
A store may record donor names and contact details (for tax receipts), shopper details (for layaway, loyalty, or tax-exempt sales), and volunteer hours. ThriftFlow does not use this data for our own purposes. We store it, back it up, and help the store's own staff work with it — nothing more.
Only the vendors that make the service run — our cloud hosting (DigitalOcean) and, where a store turns them on, its own chosen email and payment providers. Each handles only what's needed for its job. We share information with law enforcement only when legally required.
Store-staff account data lasts as long as the account is active. Data inside a store's database is kept according to that store's own retention settings — ThriftFlow ships tools a store uses to export, erase, or age out donor records to meet its obligations.
If you're a donor, shopper, or volunteer and want to see, correct, or delete what a store holds about you, contact that store — they control it, and their staff can action it directly in ThriftFlow. If you're store staff and want your ThriftFlow account handled, email us below.
Questions about this policy: bmanderson22@gmail.com. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell store owners directly.
